About Me
Welcome to my personal corner in this vast internet! My name is Gustavo Neiva and I have been working as a full-time software developer since 2017. Multidisciplinary, I have professional experience in various fields, from data analysis, geographic information systems, precision agriculture, front-end development, embedded development, ecommerce, and the creation and management of web systems. Currently, I work at Carta, a platform that helps private companies manage equity and ownership, building products that allow more people to own a piece of what they create.
My first contact with software development was in my teenage years when I started playing Ultima Online and learned to create macros, scripts, and hacks to automate processes and facilitate the development of my avatars in the game. This sparked a deep interest in technology and its uses and applications in the real world.
I have always had multiple interests and a strong curiosity and connection with the environment, biology, and geography, which led me to graduate as an Agronomist Engineer from the Federal University of Viçosa in 2014. I am interested in the uses of technology in agriculture, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry systems, outdoor sports, history, politics, economy, philosophy, and anthropology.
I began my professional career as an intern at NEPUT, the Center for Studies in Land Use Planning, where I worked as a geoprocessing technician and built solid foundations in geoprocessing, remote sensing, geographic data collection, and analysis. Since then, I have been passionate about working with systems and their interfaces with geography and the real world.
In 2017, I was part of class #84 of Le Wagon, an intensive software development course, which was the moment I pivoted my career towards technology and software development. I was an assistant teacher and later a teacher of the course and have worked in software factories, startups, and large companies.
I maintain my contact with agribusiness by undertaking freelance projects and I am an investor in Mare, Maricultura Regenerativa, a biotechnology startup that cultivates macroalgae for the extraction of a 100% organic agricultural biostimulant capable of regulating the physiology and metabolic balance of plants, derived from the red macroalga Kappaphycus alvarezii.
I am the father of two beautiful children, live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and am always curious, looking to learn something new every day.
With affection,
Gustavo Neiva
